What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy. This energy is vital life energy that flows through all living beings.
Reiki is a safe, natural hands-on therapy providing healing on all levels, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. The therapist is a channel for the energy. This energy promotes the body's own natural healing mechanisms and helps a person to return to a feeling of balance. It can help you to feel more relaxed and able to cope with life.
Reiki can be given at any time and anywhere, as there is no special equipment needed, just the need to be healed. Clients remain fully clothed at all times. You can either lie down or sit in a chair. I am also able to offer distance reiki.
Reiki is suitable whether you are healthy or sick or of any age.
What sort of conditions can Reiki be helpful for?
Reiki activates the body's own natural ability to heal itself. It cleanses where energy is blocked, rids the body of toxins and creates a state of well-being and balance for the recipient. It can be helpful for :
Relieving pain (physical and emotional).
Accelerating natural healing.
Calming the mind and body, restoring a feeling of peace.
Focusing the mind, helping to eliminate confusion and help problem solving.
Rebalancing the body's energy.
Releasing stored emotions.Improving health and well-being.
Inducing a state of deep relaxation.

Animals usually welcome reiki and can sense that something special is being given. Often, if reiki is being given to a person and a pet is in the same room they will move closer so they can experience it too.
What happens during a reiki session?
On the first visit a confidential consultation is carried out to determine your health and lifestyle. If you require distant reiki you will still be asked to complete a consultation form.
Reiki is given whilst you are either lying down or sitting. You remain fully clothed at all times. The treatments consists of a series of different hand positions on, or just above, the recipients body. The practitioner will move slowly along the length of the body from head to foot in a non-intrusive way. A change in the flow of energy will indicate to the practitioner that it is time to move to another area. Reiki knows where the energy is most needed. It works on 4 levels: physical, bringing balance and so enabling the body to heal itself better. Mental, again bringing a sense of balance so that stress is easier to deal with and the mind can feel clearer and able to function better. Emotional: the ups and downs of everday life can appear more manageable. The need for medication is often greatly reduced. Spiritual, bringing a feeling of balance and inner peace.
Distant Reiki is the sending of Reiki energy to a person or animal without the Reiki Practitioner being physically present and is suitable for anyone unable to visit a Reiki Practitioner. As Reiki energy is not subject to the limitations of time, space or distance it can be sent to any person, or any animal, wherever they are and will be just as effective. The energy channeled is as strong as that experienced during a personal treatment.
